Color or Black and White? Consciously Shaping Photography in Lindau
When does color enhance the image statement – and when does a motif gain from the concentrated effect of black and white? The photography workshop at vhs Lindau focuses on a central design decision and combines illustrative image comparisons with practical photography.
Understanding and Purposefully Using Image Impact
Color creates mood, atmosphere, and closeness. On the other hand, black and white directs attention more to light, shadow, shapes, structures, and contrasts. In the workshop, participants experience how a motif changes through the choice of visual language and how a spontaneous shot turns into a consciously designed photograph.
Practical Photo Walk with Individual Support
After a joint introduction, the practice moves to a photo walk. With a DSLR, system camera, or smartphone, participants search for suitable motifs and make their decision for color or black and white directly while photographing. Individual support helps to sharpen one’s perception and implement design ideas.
Workshop for Conscious Photographic Decisions
The course is aimed at photography enthusiasts who want to further develop their image design. The focus is on perception, composition, and the question of how color or reduction shape the emotional impact of an image. This connects the event with professional foundations and an immediate experience in the surroundings of Lindau and Lake Constance.
Conclusion: Photographing with a Clearer Vision
The workshop provides space for new perspectives, practical experiences, and personal image ideas. Those who do not want to leave photography to chance, but instead want to decide more consciously, experience a varied day at vhs Lindau with theory, a photo walk, and individual support.
