With wood, craftsmanship, and feeling: Woodturning for beginners in Hergensweiler
How a piece of wood transforms into a personal workpiece is experienced by beginners during the workshop vhs: Introduction to Woodturning (Small Group) on October 22, 2026, at the Drehpunkt Allgäu-Bodensee. In a small group, the vhs Lindau Bodensee provides a safe, personal, and professionally guided introduction to the world of woodturning.
Step by step to your own workpiece
Around the rotating wood lathe, craftsmanship precision, creativity, and an immediate event experience connect. Under expert guidance, participants learn fundamental work steps and create their own small workpiece. Options include a candle holder, a mini vase, or a massage roller.
Learn safely in a personal atmosphere
The small group creates ideal conditions for individual questions, focused work, and a calm learning atmosphere. Machines, tools, materials, and safety equipment are provided on-site. This way, practical access to woodturning is the focus while the event management of the Volkshochschule ensures a structured and safe workshop framework.
Craftsmanship that remains memorable
The special appeal of this course lies in the visible result: From a raw material, a functional and individual object emerges with one's own hands. The finished workpiece can be taken home afterward, serving as a reminder of the first personal step at the wood lathe.
Conclusion: A creative introduction to traditional craftsmanship
The workshop combines practical experience, personal supervision, and the charm of real workshop work. Those who want to try woodturning and take home a self-made piece will experience an intense afternoon full of the scent of wood, craftsmanship movement, and visible achievements at the Drehpunkt Allgäu-Bodensee.
