The castle restaurant Gebhardsberg, located high above Bregenz, delights with its unique location on the former Bregenz fortress. The historic site with its own chapel is not only a place full of history but also ideal for celebrations and special occasions. The newly renovated rooftop terrace is particularly impressive – from here, you have a breathtaking view over the Rhine Valley and far beyond Lake Constance. Culinarily, our visit was convincing in every respect. We especially want to recommend the "stirred iced coffee," a true Vorarlberg specialty – creamy, intense, and simply delicious. We had veal schnitzel and cheese spaetzle: the schnitzel was wonderfully tender, and the fried potatoes were perfectly cooked. The seasoning was on the higher end but was flavorful. The cheese spaetzle were also very good – however, we would have liked a bit more seasoning in the lower part. The accompanying salad was fresh, balanced, and beautifully presented. The service was friendly, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive. The waiting times for food were completely reasonable. Overall, we felt completely comfortable again. The castle restaurant is a special place with a lot of charm, great cuisine, and a spectacular panorama – we will definitely come back!

The castle restaurant is beautifully located, and the view over the pre-Christmas surroundings with many lights in the evening was very nice. We treated ourselves to a Chateau-Briand for two. The meat was perfectly prepared, and the vegetables were crunchy, just as they should be. The presentation at the table with the flambéed meat was impressive. The only thing we would have preferred is to have two smaller portions of meat served one after the other instead of everything together. The staff was friendly at all times, and we felt very comfortable that evening.

We were there with a large family group for fondue on Gebhardsberg and were completely thrilled. The ambiance is exceptionally cozy and stylish, and the view over Bregenz and Lake Constance is simply fantastic. The fondue was a real treat – high quality, lovingly prepared, and perfect for a long, sociable evening. To top it off, we were treated to a wonderful hot love and a wonderfully fluffy Kaiserschmarrn – a perfect ending to a thoroughly successful evening. A place to feel good, enjoy, and come back – absolutely recommendable, especially for lovely hours with family or friends.
